Xiaomi has made the Smart Camera 4 Max AI Zoom Edition available for sale in China. The indoor security camera features a dual-camera system, 4K video recording, AI-based monitoring and 360-degree gimbal support. According to the company, it is designed to provide smart home security features, including monitoring for children and elderly family members.
The Xiaomi Smart Camera 4 Max AI Zoom Edition features a dual-camera setup comprising a 12-megapixel telephoto camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera sensor. It uses an f/1.6 aperture and a 6P lens to enable improved image and video capture in low-light conditions.
The camera supports 4K video recording, 3x lossless zoom, 12x Hybrid Zoom, autofocus and full-colour night vision. Users can view distant people or objects with greater clarity. Xiaomi has also included a dedicated photography mode that allows users to capture high-quality photos and videos alongside home monitoring.
The camera incorporates Xiaomi's AI Care Large Language Model, marking the first time the company has introduced this technology in one of its security cameras. The feature is designed to understand and monitor the activities of children and elderly family members.

The camera can identify whether a child is studying, sleeping or has remained inactive for an extended period. It can also monitor the activities of elderly people. If an unusual situation is detected, users can receive immediate notifications. The camera also supports text-based video search, allowing recorded footage to be searched using keywords to locate specific events.
The Smart Camera 4 Max AI Zoom Edition is equipped with a dual-motor gimbal that supports 360-degree horizontal and 180-degree vertical rotation. This enables the camera to cover nearly every part of a room.
When a person enters the camera's field of view, it automatically tracks the individual and continuously monitors their movement, making it easier to record indoor activity.
The camera is powered by a 3T quad-core chip designed to improve the speed and accuracy of AI-based processing. It also includes person recognition, gesture-based two-way calling, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and microSD card support.
For data protection, Xiaomi has equipped the device with an EAL5+ certified Mi Home Security Chip, which is intended to secure video data and enhance privacy.
Xiaomi has launched the Smart Camera 4 Max AI Zoom Edition in China with an introductory crowdfunding price of 799 yuan (approximately Rs 12,300). The camera is currently available in the Chinese market.
The company has not announced any official plans for a global or India launch.
