Chief Minister Yogi Unveils Maharaja Suheldev Statue in Bahraich; Criticizes Opposition's Appeasement Politics

UP News: During a program in Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on opposition parties, particularly the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress. He unveiled a statue of Maharaja Suheldev, commemorating his valor, patriotism, and historical contributions.

CM Yogi stated that national heroes like Maharaja Suheldev had long been denied the recognition they deserved. He emphasized that this is the first time a double-engine government (both at the center and state level) has taken concrete steps to honor such valiant warriors.

Government's Concrete Actions

The CM announced that Bahraich's medical college has been renamed after Maharaja Suheldev. Furthermore, Azamgarh University has also been renamed in his honor. These initiatives, he said, represent significant steps towards giving India's heroes their rightful place in history.

Direct Attack on Gazi Mian and Appeasement Politics

The Chief Minister asserted that for a long time, foreign invaders were glorified in India while national heroes were forgotten. He accused the Congress and the Samajwadi Party of adopting appeasement policies driven by vote-bank politics, neglecting those who fought for the country's soil and identity.

Direct Statement on Salar Masud

CM Yogi, citing historical events, described how Maharaja Suheldev, nearly 1,000 years ago, defeated the vast army of the foreign invader Salar Masud. He stated that this battle was fought to protect dharma (religion), the land, and culture. Suheldev, with only 20-25 thousand soldiers, defeated Masud's army of 300,000.

The CM explained that Masud was captured alive and punished in a manner considered, even by Islamic principles, to condemn him to hell. He described this as an untold but crucial saga in Indian history.

History's Injustice, Government's Justice

Yogi Adityanath stated that history had been unjust to Maharaja Suheldev and many other heroes, but the BJP's double-engine government would not allow this injustice to continue. He pointed out that those who participated in this war, protecting India's culture and religion, were also deprived of basic amenities for years.

Questioning the Congress-SP Stance

The Chief Minister accused the opposition of not only forgetting these national heroes but also adopting a soft stance towards foreign invaders due to vote-bank politics. He highlighted the contrast between the BJP celebrating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary and the Samajwadi Party praising Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He further contrasted the BJP's celebration of Maharaja Suheldev's victory with the opposition's focus on Gazi Mian's wedding.

Remarks on the Ram Mandir Movement

Discussing the Ram Mandir movement, CM Yogi noted that there was a time when questions were raised about the temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, but today, a grand temple has been built, and the court of Raja Ram is adorned with full devotion. He asserted that no one can question it now.

Announcement of a New Memorial in Lucknow

The CM also announced that a new memorial would soon be built in Lucknow, dedicated to the heroic saga of the valiant warrior Bijli Pasi. He stated that the contributions of the heroines who fought in the 1857 revolt would also be brought to the forefront.
