A youth who used abusive language for PM Modi and his mother during the Voter Rights Yatra in Darbhanga has been arrested by the police. The matter has turned into a political controversy and efforts are on to find other accused.
Bihar: The incident of making abusive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother from a stage during the Voter Rights Yatra in Darbhanga has now escalated. This incident occurred on Wednesday when several prominent leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Tejashwi Yadav, had arrived to participate in the Voter Rights Yatra. This remark, made from the stage erected at Bithouli Chowk in Simri police station area, went viral on social media, and the matter quickly turned into a political controversy.
Action initiated after viral video
Following the circulation of the video on social media, BJP workers bly objected to it. District President Aditya Narayan Manna filed a written complaint with the Cyber Police Station and Simri Police Station. Based on the complaint, Darbhanga Police immediately commenced action. Under the direction of the SSP, Simri Police Station registered an FIR and handed over the video investigation to the Cyber Police Station team.
Swift police raid and arrest
During the video investigation, the police identified the remark as having been made by Mo. Rizvi alias Raja (25), son of Anish Qureshi, a resident of Bhupura in Bhawani pur Panchayat. Late at night, Darbhanga Police conducted a raid and arrested Mo. Rizvi. According to the police, efforts are underway to apprehend other accused in this case, and raids are continuously being conducted for this purpose.
Congress leader apologizes
Congress leader Mo. Naushad's name also surfaced in this matter. He is accused of the abusive remark being made during his program. However, Mo. Naushad released a video on social media and apologized for this incident. He stated that the incident was committed by a minor and that those present immediately opposed it. He added that even some people on stage reprimanded him.
BJP's firm stance
The BJP has taken this entire matter seriously. Party leaders have stated that such abusive language against the Prime Minister and his late mother will not be tolerated under any circumstances. BJP workers have demanded from the police that all accused be arrested as soon as possible and strict action be taken against them.
Police investigation ongoing
Darbhanga SSP confirmed that Mo. Rizvi has been arrested and is being interrogated. He stated that other individuals visible in the video are also being identified. He assured that all accused would soon be in police custody.
