On the day of Saraswati Puja, colder conditions are expected to intensify across eastern Bihar, according to the latest weather forecast. A clear drop in temperatures is likely in eastern Bihar, Seemanchal and the Kosi region, including Bhagalpur and surrounding districts, with colder mornings and late nights, while daytime conditions may remain relatively normal.
Cold winds blowing from the north and northwest are expected to affect the entire region, leading to a continued decline in minimum temperatures. Light haze or fog may develop in several districts during the morning hours, potentially affecting visibility. In view of this, caution has been advised for devotees, students, and teachers travelling to puja pandals early in the morning.
In the Seemanchal and Kosi regions, the impact of the cold is expected to be relatively ber. Night temperatures in these areas may fall below normal levels, increasing cold conditions and chill, particularly in open areas and settlements near riverbanks. During the afternoon, clear skies and mild sunshine may provide brief relief, but colder conditions are expected to return after sunset.
In other parts of eastern Bihar, the weather is expected to remain dry, with no rainfall forecast. As a result, Saraswati Puja-related events are expected to proceed without disruption. However, due to temperature fluctuations, colder conditions are likely to be more pronounced during the morning and evening hours. The Meteorological Department has indicated that similar conditions may persist over the next few days.
In Bhagalpur and nearby districts, the effect of the cold is also expected to be evident on the day of Saraswati Puja. Cold winds may prevail during the morning and night, increasing the need for warm clothing. Mild sunshine during the afternoon may make conditions relatively pleasant. According to the Meteorological Department, there is currently no warning of rainfall or b winds, though the drop in temperature is expected to be felt.
The Meteorological Department has advised people to use warm clothing during puja and other religious activities, particularly in the early morning and late evening hours. Special care has been recommended for young children, the elderly, and those who are unwell. Drivers have also been advised to remain cautious during morning hours in view of the possibility of fog.
