Gorakhpur Zoo has commenced special arrangements to protect animals from the cold as temperatures drop. The zoo administration has made adequate provisions of blowers, heaters, blankets, and straw for all sensitive species.
According to information, thick mats and mattresses have been laid in the enclosures of small mammals to shield them from the night's cold. Temperature-controlled equipment has been installed for reptiles. For birds, tarpaulins have been erected around their enclosures to restrict air entry.
Zoo staff reported that a team of veterinarians is conducting daily inspections, and arrangements are being updated according to the weather. The use of heaters and blowers will be increased as the cold intensifies.
The administration states that safety measures have been prepared keeping in mind the specific needs of each species during the winter season, ensuring the animals remain healthy and safe.
