Weather conditions in Uttar Pradesh are expected to change once again, with the Meteorological Department issuing an alert for rainfall and hail in 13 districts across the state. Wind speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour are also likely. In view of the sudden change in weather, the administration and the Agriculture Department have advised caution.

According to the Meteorological Department, several districts in western Uttar Pradesh may witness cloudy skies, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, and isolated incidents of hail. A drop in temperature may be recorded due to b winds. There is also a possibility of damage to crops kept in open areas and to ongoing construction activities.

In some parts of the state, however, heat conditions persist. Banda district recorded the highest maximum temperature at 31.6 degrees Celsius. Such a temperature in mid-February is considered above normal. Strong sunshine during the day led to a mild feeling of heat.

Meteorologists stated that the change is being observed due to the activation of a western disturbance. Over the next 24 to 48 hours, weather conditions may remain altered in several areas. Thunderstorms accompanied by b winds could also lead to incidents of lightning, and people have been advised to avoid standing in open fields or under trees.

The weather may pose challenges for farmers. In areas where wheat and other crops are in the ripening stage, hail could cause damage. The Agriculture Department has appealed to farmers to take necessary measures to protect their crops and to monitor the latest weather updates.

Strong winds may also result in trees falling or disruptions to electricity supply in urban areas. The administration has placed the electricity department and disaster management teams on alert to respond promptly to any emergency situation.

According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, the change may be temporary and temperatures could return to normal after a few days. For now, residents have been advised to monitor weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel.
