Salman Khan to Play Colonel Santosh Babu in Upcoming Galwan Valley War Film

Salman Khan's recent film, "Sikander," received a mixed response from audiences and underperformed at the box office. He is now gearing up for a new and powerful project.

Entertainment Desk: Bollywood's "Dabangg" star, Salman Khan, is returning with a powerful and patriotic film based on a true story—the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China. Speculation surrounding this film has been ongoing, and a major update has emerged: the lead actress has been finalized.

Chitrangada Singh to Star Opposite Salman

According to media reports, Chitrangada Singh will be seen opposite Salman Khan. This will be the first time Salman and Chitrangada will share the screen in a romantic and action-packed role. Chitrangada began her career with the critically acclaimed film "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi."

She later appeared in films like "Desi Boyz," "I Me Aur Main," and the song "Aao Raja" from "Gabbar Is Back." However, she has been away from mainstream cinema for a while, and this film with Salman could mark a b comeback for her career.

Salman to Play Real-Life Hero Colonel B

The film's biggest highlight is its basis on true events. The story is adapted from the book "India's Most Fearless 3" by renowned authors Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Salman Khan will portray Colonel B, who is none other than Colonel Santosh Babu.

Colonel Santosh Babu led Indian soldiers during the 2020 Galwan Valley skirmish. He was the Commanding Officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment and was martyred for the country. His name became synonymous with valor, discipline, and leadership. Salman will now bring this character to life.

Filming to Begin in July; Salman Undergoes Military Training

Filming is scheduled to begin in July 2025. According to the production house, the shooting schedule will be completed within three months, with plans to finalize the cut by October 2025. Salman Khan is currently rigorously preparing for his role. He is not only focusing on his physical fitness but also undergoing military training to perfectly embody Colonel B.

The film's action sequences will feature real weapons and army tactics, potentially making it Bollywood's most realistic war drama yet.

Title Remains a Mystery, but Content is Powerful

The film's title has not yet been officially announced. However, speculation suggests it will revolve around a powerful and patriotic word reflecting the spirit of Galwan. The film will not only showcase a powerful blend of action and patriotism but will also depict the real-life situation at the India-China border—how, without firing a shot, 20 Indian soldiers forced the Chinese army to retreat.

Following the mixed response to Salman Khan's recent film "Sikander," this Galwan Valley-based film could not only mark a new direction in his career but also foster a b sense of nationalism among Indian audiences.
