UP Board Compartment Exam in Muzaffarnagar: Date Change Proposed Due to Kanwar Yatra

UP Board Compartment Exam in Muzaffarnagar: Date Change Proposed Due to Kanwar Yatra

UP Board Compartment Exam is scheduled for July 19th. However, in Muzaffarnagar, the DIOS has proposed a date change to the government, citing safety concerns for students due to the Kanwar Yatra.

UP Board Compartment Exam: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has scheduled the High School and Intermediate compartment and improvement examinations for July 19, 2024. However, the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) of Muzaffarnagar district has objected to this date, calling it impractical due to the Kanwar Yatra and has requested that the exam be conducted after July 23rd.

Why the date change is being requested

DIOS Rajesh Kumar Shrivas has sent a letter to the Secondary Education Council, requesting that the date be changed as the Kanwar Yatra will be at its peak in the district on July 19th. Traffic flow will be disrupted on major routes, including highways. This will make it difficult for students to reach the examination centers.

In Muzaffarnagar district, 740 students have applied for the compartment examination. However, only one examination center - Government Inter College, Muzaffarnagar - has been designated in the district. All students have to appear for the examination at this center. Due to road closures and security arrangements, students may face significant inconvenience.

What the DIOS said

In his letter, the DIOS wrote that it would be challenging for students to reach the examination center safely and on time. He suggested that the examination date be set after July 23rd, when the Kanwar Yatra will have concluded and traffic flow will be normal. He also mentioned that all preparations for the examination are complete, but conducting the exam under the current circumstances is not practical.

Compartment Exam Schedule

According to the schedule issued by the Secondary Education Council, the compartment examination will be held in two shifts. The first shift will be from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM, in which High School (10th) students will appear for the examination. The second shift will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM, in which Intermediate (12th) students will participate.

Strict monitoring arrangements at the examination center

Strict security arrangements will be in place at the examination center. Only examinees, center administrators, teachers, and non-teaching staff will be allowed to enter. Entry of outsiders will be completely prohibited. The center administrator will be responsible for ensuring that no crowd gathers at the examination center.

Mobile phones and other electronic devices will be prohibited in the examination rooms. The examination will be conducted under the supervision of CCTV cameras to ensure fairness.

Students applied motivated by previous results

This year, approximately 58,700 students from Muzaffarnagar district appeared for the main UP Board examination. Many students did not receive the expected marks, due to which 740 students have applied for the compartment or improvement examination. These students will retake the examination to improve their scores.
