Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhawa' Inches Closer to Breaking Bollywood Box Office Record
Last Updated: 1 day ago

Chhawa's box office earnings saw a significant surge during its sixth weekend, bly indicating that Vicky Kaushal's film is poised to set a new box office record. Let's find out how.

Entertainment Desk: Vicky Kaushal's film, Chhawa, has delivered a phenomenal performance at the box office, already breaking several major records. The film's sixth weekend also concluded with impressive earnings, bringing it very close to becoming the second highest-grossing Bollywood film. Preliminary figures suggest it needs only a few crore more to achieve this milestone. Let's examine Chhawa's total earnings to date and its future prospects.

Sixth Week Earnings Remain Strong

Chhawa's box office journey has been spectacular. In its first five weeks, the Hindi version grossed ₹571.40 crore, while the Telugu version contributed ₹14.41 crore. On its 36th and 37th days, the film earned ₹2.1 crore and ₹3.7 crore respectively, bringing the total box office collection to ₹591.61 crore.

By 2:35 PM on the 38th day, the film had earned an additional ₹1.29 crore, taking its total earnings to ₹592.9 crore. However, these figures are not final and are subject to change.

Bollywood's Second Highest Record Soon to be Broken

Among Bollywood's highest-grossing films, Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan leads with ₹640.25 crore, followed by Stree 2 with ₹597.99 crore. Chhawa is now poised to surpass Stree 2's lifetime collection very soon.

If the film continues its current earning pace, it could overtake Stree 2 today or tomorrow. This would be a significant milestone for Chhawa, making it the second highest-grossing Bollywood film.

'Sikandar's' Release Might Have Impacted 'Jawan' Record as Well

With Salman Khan's Sikandar releasing on March 30th, Chhawa's show timings will be reduced, potentially impacting its earnings. A delay in Sikandar's release might have given Chhawa more time to potentially close the gap with Jawan's record. However, under the current circumstances, reaching the ₹640 crore mark seems challenging for Chhawa.

A Blockbuster Made on a ₹130 Crore Budget

Produced by Maddock Films, Chhawa was made on a budget of ₹130 crore and has now proven to be a superhit at the box office. The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Akshay Khanna, Rashmika Mandanna, Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, and Vineet Kumar Singh in prominent roles. All eyes are now on Chhawa's final 38th-day earnings. Will it surpass Stree 2 to become Bollywood's second highest-grossing film? The answer will be revealed in a few hours.
