Kamra made a controversial remark, satirizing Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, prompting a response from Ranaut. She unequivocally stated that making fun of someone's dignity under the guise of comedy is wrong.
Kangana's Sharp Rebuke
Reacting bly to Kamra's jokes referring to Shinde as a "traitor" and "turncoat," Kangana Ranaut said, "If you disagree with someone's work, this kind of behavior is not acceptable. Even when the BMC illegally demolished my office, Kunal Kamra mocked me. But in this case, what happened to him was entirely within the legal framework."
'Insulting People in the Name of Comedy is Wrong'
Ranaut further added, "These days, insulting people, ignoring their struggles and hard work in the name of comedy has become a trend. Eknath Shinde ji once drove a rickshaw; today, he has reached this position through his hard work. But these people, who haven't achieved anything in their own lives, are making fun of others. If they are so capable, why don't they write literature?"
She also added that, "Using abusive language under the guise of comedy, mocking our scriptures and culture, and insulting women is absolutely wrong. People are doing anything for two minutes of fame on social media; we need to seriously consider this."
Old Video Goes Viral
Amidst this controversy, an old video of Kunal Kamra is also going viral on social media, in which he is seen with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut. This video is from 2020, when the BMC demolished Kangana Ranaut's bungalow in Bandra. At that time, Kamra mocked Ranaut and was seen posing with Sanjay Raut.
