Comedian Samay Raina has recorded his statement with the police regarding a controversial statement made on the India's Got Talent show.
Entertainment: Popular stand-up comedian Samay Raina finally recorded his statement with the Maharashtra Cyber Police regarding the controversy surrounding the India's Got Talent show. After failing to appear despite two previous summons, he appeared on Monday and admitted his mistake. The police had previously summoned Raina on March 17th and 19th, but he was unable to attend due to a busy schedule. However, Raina has now appeared before the police and acknowledged his wrongdoing.
Samay Raina States – Mental State Was Not Well
Raina admitted to the police that the statements made during the show were inappropriate and that he deeply regrets the entire incident. He stated, "Everything happened in the flow of the show, and I had no intention of saying such things." Raina further added, "My mental health has also been affected by this controversy. My Canada tour didn't go well either, and I will exercise greater caution in the future to prevent this from happening again."
The Maharashtra Cyber Police has summoned Samay Raina again for questioning on March 27th. The police are also continuously questioning others involved in the case.
What is the Entire Controversy?
On India's Got Talent, content creator Ranveer Allahabadhia made objectionable statements regarding parents and personal relationships. Samay Raina was the host of the show and is therefore under investigation. The Maharashtra Cyber Police filed an FIR against over 30 people in connection with the matter and wrote to YouTube requesting the removal of the controversial video.
