A large drug shipment has once again been seized in Gujarat, India. A joint operation by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Indian Coast Guard recovered 300 kilograms of drugs near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in the Arabian Sea.

Gujarat Seizes 300 kg of Drugs: Security agencies have achieved another significant victory in the fight against drug trafficking in Gujarat. A substantial 300-kilogram drug haul, attempting to enter India via the Arabian Sea, has been seized in a joint operation by the Gujarat ATS and the Indian Coast Guard. The street value of these drugs is estimated to be approximately ₹1800 crore (approximately $218 million USD).

Smugglers Abandon Drugs and Flee

During the joint Coast Guard and ATS operation on the night of April 12-13, upon noticing the security agencies, the smugglers immediately discarded their drug shipment into the sea and fled across the IMBL. The Coast Guard personnel diligently recovered the discarded drugs from the sea and handed them over to the Gujarat ATS for further investigation.

This significant success demonstrates the enhanced coordination and synergy between government agencies in curbing drug trafficking in Gujarat. Previously, combined efforts of the ATS, Coast Guard, and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have resulted in several large drug seizures along the Gujarat coast.

Another Step Towards Stricter Enforcement

Gujarat ATS officials hailed this success as a major achievement, stating that this operation will further strengthen the security agencies' campaign against smuggling. The ATS will hold a press conference to provide detailed information on the matter. This successful operation has boosted the morale of the security forces, and further stringent measures will be taken in this direction.
