Following Delhi Election Loss, CM Nayab Singh Saini Targets Kejriwal, Asking, "If He Wasn't True to Haryana, How Could He Be to Delhi?" Yamuna Water Dispute Also a Key Issue.
Delhi Assembly Election Result 2025: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faced a resounding defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears poised for a return to power after two decades. Amidst these results, Haryana's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, launched a sharp attack on Arvind Kejriwal. He stated that Kejriwal had insulted the soil of Haryana and questioned his credibility in Delhi, given his perceived failure to represent Haryana effectively.
CM Saini's Attack on Kejriwal
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said, "Today is a historic day. The people of Delhi have given a clear mandate to the BJP, endorsing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's capable leadership, development initiatives, and welfare schemes. Delhi will now regain its prestige and honor."
He added that BJP workers had campaigned diligently and earned the public's trust. Saini attacked AAP and Kejriwal, accusing them of engaging in deceitful politics and stating that the public had put them in their place.
Surrounding Kejriwal on the Yamuna Water Dispute
During the Delhi Assembly election campaign, the Yamuna River water issue became a major point of contention. Kejriwal alleged that the Haryana government had added a poison called ammonia to the Yamuna, contaminating Delhi's water supply. This issue fueled intense political debate, with the Aam Aadmi Party making it a central campaign theme.
Following the election results, CM Nayab Singh Saini retaliated against Kejriwal, stating, "Arvind Kejriwal has insulted the soil of Haryana. He made false accusations to win the election, but the public has understood his true nature."
Election Commission Issued a Notice
Arvind Kejriwal received a notice from the Election Commission regarding the Yamuna water dispute. The Haryana government challenged the AAP convener on this issue, and the BJP framed it as an insult to Haryana, escalating it into a major political point. BJP leaders claimed Kejriwal was making false accusations to hide his failures, and the public has now taught him a lesson.
BJP's Return to Power in Delhi
The Aam Aadmi Party suffered a significant defeat in Delhi this time. According to political analysts, several factors contributed to AAP's loss, including allegations of corruption, poor governance, and a b BJP strategy.
CM Nayab Singh Saini's statement clearly indicates that the BJP is now attempting to strengthen its hold in Delhi and is leaving no stone unturned in cornering the AAP.
