Indian Army Chief to Visit Srinagar After Pahalgam Attack

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi to Visit Srinagar Following Pahalgam Attack, to be briefed on Counter-Terrorism Measures in the Valley and along the LOC.

Srinagar: Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian government and the army are on high alert. A high alert has been issued across the country, from the national capital Delhi to the borders. As part of this heightened security posture, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi will visit Srinagar on April 25th to conduct a thorough review of the security situation.

Briefing on Counter-Terrorism Operations in the Valley and along the LOC

During his visit, the Army Chief will be briefed by the 15 Corps Commander and senior officers of the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) on the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the valley and along the Line of Control (LOC). This visit comes at a time when the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is tense, and security agencies are on high alert regarding terrorist activities.

High-Level Security Meeting Held in Delhi

Following the attack, on Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a high-level meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), and the chiefs of the three armed forces. In this meeting, the service chiefs shared information on the security situation across the country.

Increased Security Measures Following Pahalgam Attack

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi informed the meeting that security forces have been placed on high alert in Pahalgam and across Jammu and Kashmir. Search operations to locate the terrorists have been intensified.
