Noida & Greater Noida to Replace Unregulated Buses with City Bus Service
Last Updated: 3 hour ago

Noida and Greater Noida residents can soon expect a significant improvement in public transportation, with city buses replacing the unreliable and often unsafe "daggamaar" (unregulated) buses. This issue was extensively discussed at a marathon meeting of the First Sub-Committee of the Legislative Assembly's Estimates Committee, held Wednesday at Gautam Buddha University.

New Delhi: This is welcome news for residents of Noida and Greater Noida who have long suffered from the inconsistent service and safety concerns associated with "daggamaar" buses. The new city bus service aims to provide comfortable and secure travel, while also improving traffic management.

This important decision was made at a marathon meeting of the First Sub-Committee of the Legislative Assembly's Estimates Committee, held at Gautam Buddha University. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Amit Agrawal, MLA from Meerut Cantt and Chairman of the Committee. The meeting reviewed the plans of various departments in Noida and Greater Noida, and directed a complete ban on "daggamaar" buses, replacing them with a city bus service.

Farewell to "Daggamaar" Buses, the Beginning of Organized Travel

The committee explicitly instructed the transport department to immediately halt the operation of "daggamaar" buses and replace them with a planned and regularly scheduled city bus service. This decision is a boon for Noida residents who have long faced difficulties due to these illegal buses.

The city bus service will not only improve the quality of travel but also provide better public transport for all segments of the population. The presence of these buses on city roads will reduce congestion and have a positive impact on the environment.

Farmers' Issues to be Prioritized

The meeting paid special attention to the problems faced by farmers. The committee instructed the authority officials to resolve all farmer-related issues as soon as possible. It was ensured that farmers whose land has been acquired receive appropriate compensation, rehabilitation, and other benefits without any delay.

Instructions to Health and Electricity Departments

While reviewing the health department's plans, the committee expressed concern over the low expenditure relative to the budget and directed the submission of an investigation report within 15 days. The electricity department was ordered to expedite recovery from major defaulters and install prepaid meters in the Hindon area. The committee also instructed officials to implement all public welfare schemes in a timely and transparent manner. Negligence at any level would not be tolerated, and each officer's accountability would be established.

Tribute to the Victims of the Pahalgam Attack

The meeting began with a tribute to the tourists who lost their lives in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. All members and officials observed two minutes of silence to pay homage to the departed souls. The meeting reviewed plans from various departments including Transport, Health, Energy, Food and Supplies, Urban Development, Infrastructure and Industrial Development (Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna Authority), Rural Development, Tourism, Irrigation, Social Welfare, Housing, Stamp and Registration, and State Tax Department.

Prominent Public Representatives and Officials in Attendance

The meeting was attended by committee members Dr. Manju Shivch, Ravendra Pal Singh, Shahid Manzoor, MLC Shrichand Sharma, District Panchayat President Amit Chaudhary, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, Additional District Magistrates Atul Kumar and Manglesh Dubey, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar Charul Yadav, SDM Jewar Abhay Kumar Singh, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Narendra Kumar, and several other senior officials.

This decision has raised hopes among Noida and Greater Noida residents for a well-organized, safe, and comfortable public transport system. This will not only improve traffic but also make urban life more convenient and accessible.
