Mandatory Health Checkups for Chardham Yatra Pilgrims Aged 50 and Above
Chardham Yatra 2025: To ensure a safe and organized Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand, the health department has implemented a mandatory health checkup for pilgrims aged 50 and above. Screening centers have been established along the pilgrimage routes to provide health checks and basic medical consultations.
Multilingual Health Staff Along the Pilgrimage Route
These screening centers are staffed with multilingual personnel to better serve pilgrims from across the country. Furthermore, health advisories are being issued in 13 languages and can be accessed via QR codes located in hotels, restaurants, and parking areas.
Modern Facilities at Kedarnath Hospital
The 17-bed hospital under construction in Kedarnath is nearing completion. Two floors will be fully operational before the commencement of the pilgrimage. This hospital is being equipped with modern facilities such as X-ray, ECG, blood testing, and multi-parameter monitors.
Strengthened Medical Infrastructure Along the Pilgrimage Route
- Medical units along the motorable and trekking routes have been strengthened, with orthopedic specialists deployed.
- Twenty medical units will be fully operational in Chamoli district by April 30th.
- Screening points will remain active at locations such as Gaucher Barrier, Karnprayag, Badrinath, and Pandukeshwar.
Rotational Deployment of Specialist Doctors
The health department has planned a rotational deployment of specialist doctors from each district during the pilgrimage. This includes specialists such as orthopedic surgeons, physicians, general surgeons, and anesthesiologists.
Extensive Network of Healthcare Facilities
The government will deploy the following facilities along the pilgrimage routes:
- 121 nurses
- 26 pharmacists
- 309 oxygen beds
- 6 ICU beds
- 13 departmental ambulances
- 17 ambulances (108 service)
- 1 blood bank and 2 blood storage units
