A chilling revelation has emerged in the investigation of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. According to investigating agencies, the terrorists employed a brutally inhumane method to identify the victims' religious affiliation.
Pahalgam Attack: In the terrorist attack in the Beasaran Valley of Pahalgam, 26 people were brutally murdered. A joint investigation team comprising the army, Jammu and Kashmir police, and administration has revealed that the pants of 20 victims were found lowered or unzipped. This suggests that the terrorists checked for circumcision to identify the victims' religion before shooting them.
First Religion, Then Recitation of the 'Kalma'
Sources indicate that the attackers first asked the victims for their names and identification documents such as Aadhaar cards or driving licenses. They then forced them to recite the 'Kalma' (Islamic declaration of faith) and subsequently checked for circumcision by lowering their pants. Those who were not circumcised, implying they were Hindu, were targeted and shot in the head or chest.
25 of 26 Victims Hindu Men
The investigation also revealed that 25 of the 26 victims were Hindu men. The condition of the bodies further corroborates the targeting of a specific community. This attack is believed to be part of a pre-planned communal conspiracy.
Bodies Recovered as Found
Following the attack, the bereaved family members were in shock and did not immediately notice the unusual state of the clothing. The recovery personnel also shrouded the bodies as they were found, preventing the discovery of this detail initially.
India Takes Strong Action
Following the attack, the Indian government took b action. The Attari border was immediately closed. The SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) was suspended, and Pakistani citizens were ordered to leave India within 48 hours.
Expulsion of Pakistani Officials
India declared the defense, naval, and air advisors stationed at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi as 'persona non grata' and ordered them to leave the country within a week. Simultaneously, India recalled all its defense advisors from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
