New Controversy Erupts After Remarks on Rana Sanga, Following Aurangzeb Debate

Amidst the ongoing national debate surrounding the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, Maulana Tauqeer Raza sparked a new controversy with his controversial comments labeling the warrior king Rana Sanga a traitor. He also claimed that Veer Savarkar betrayed the country by accepting a stipend of ₹60 from the British. These statements have ignited a fresh wave of debate.

Allegations of Government Bias

In a press conference, Maulana Tauqeer Raza criticized the central and state governments, alleging that the current administration is pursuing anti-Muslim policies. He accused various state chief ministers of vying to persecute Muslims to prove their Hindu credentials. He cited incidents in Sambhal and Nagpur, claiming members of his community were killed and imprisoned. In light of these events, he announced a decision to forgo new clothes during Eid.

Statements on Rana Sanga and Babur

Responding to the Wakf Amendment Bill, Maulana Tauqeer criticized the Muslim Personal Law Board for attempting to mobilize protests without taking concrete action. He further alleged that the government is using religious issues to garner public support for its policies.

Maulana Tauqeer questioned the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), suggesting that it could allow terrorists disguised as Pakistani Hindus to infiltrate the country. He accused the government of exploiting religious issues for political gain.

Prime Minister's Gift and the Muslim Community

Maulana Tauqeer also questioned the plan to distribute gifts to Muslim households with Prime Minister Modi's photograph. He suggested this was an attempt to compensate for the damage caused by the Aurangzeb debate. He further demanded that if gifts are being given to Muslims, Hindu communities should also receive gifts during Navratri.
