The tenth fast of the holy month of Ramadan 2025 is being observed today, Tuesday (March 11th). This day is not merely another fast, but a confluence of mercy and blessings. It also marks the end of Ramadan's first Ashra, a period filled with Allah's mercy. In Islam, Ramadan is considered a symbol of self-restraint, devotion, and equality within society.

First Ashra – The Period of Mercy Concludes

Ramadan is divided into three Ashras, and the first is known as the Ashra of Rahmat (Mercy). This phase concludes with the tenth fast, and the Ashra of Magfirat (Forgiveness) will now begin. The first ten days are considered days of Allah's mercy, during which special blessings are bestowed upon the fasting.

Fasting: A Symbol of Devotion and Equality

In Ramadan, fasting is not merely about abstaining from food and drink; it teaches self-control, devotion, and equality within society. It is a time when the rich and poor, the master and servant, unite in the worship of Allah. This month serves to erase material disparities and strengthen the spirit of piety.

The 10th Fast: Filled with Mercy and Blessings

Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "Ask Allah for favor and blessings, for He loves those who give." In this respect, during this holy month of Ramadan, the fasting should pray to Allah for mercy and blessings.

The Ashra of Magfirat Begins

Following the first Ashra, the second phase of Ramadan, the Ashra of Magfirat (Forgiveness), begins. During this phase, those fasting seek forgiveness from Allah for their sins. This period is considered a time of self-purification and spiritual cleansing. The tenth fast of Ramadan is a confluence of mercy and blessings, signaling the end of the first Ashra. Now, the fasting will enter the Ashra of Magfirat and seek forgiveness from Allah for their sins.
