Mahakal Temple in Ujjain Announces Special New Year's Day Visit Arrangements

If you're planning to visit Baba Mahakal on December 31, 2024, or January 1, 2025, the administration has made special arrangements to ensure devotees can see the deity in approximately 45 minutes for a smoother experience.

Mahakal Mandir Ujjain: Anticipating the large crowds expected during the new year, the administration has made special arrangements for visits to Baba Mahakal. Security and logistical measures have been put in place to ensure pilgrims face no difficulties in their visit on December 31st and January 1st, 2025.

Viewing Baba Mahakal in 45 Minutes

The administration claims that under this streamlined viewing system, devotees will be able to see Lord Mahakal in about 45 minutes. Extensive preparations have been made to accommodate the expected large crowds and ensure a smooth experience for all.

Special Routes and Parking Arrangements

Entry to the temple will be from the Karkraj parking area, via Shaktipath and Mahakal Lok.
General devotees will enter the temple from the Kartik Mandapam. VIP devotees will enter through the Begumbag and Neelkanth Gate.

Special Arrangements for Elderly and Disabled Individuals

Elderly and disabled devotees will be accommodated through the Avantika Gate, where wheelchair facilities will be available.

Routes for Leaving the Temple After Darshan

After their visit, devotees will exit through Gate Number 10 or the Nirmalya Gate and proceed along the designated route, passing the large Ganesh Temple, and returning via the Har Siddhi Chowk and the Char Dham Temple.

Free Facilities for Devotees

Shoe Stalls: Located at the Bhil Samaj Dharmshala, Char Dham Temple, and near the Avantika Gate.
Prasad (Food): A free Annakshetra (food distribution area) will be set up in front of Shri Mahakal Mahalok.
Drinking Water: Drinking water facilities will be available along a 2.5-kilometer stretch of the route.

Ladoo Prasad Counters

Devotees can purchase Ladoo Prasad from counters situated near the Char Dham Temple and parking areas.

Vehicle Parking and Diversion Arrangements

Four-Wheeler Vehicle Parking

- From the Indore/Devas route at the Karkraj and Bhil Samaj parking areas.
- From the Barnagar/Nagda route at the Mohanpura Bridge and Kartik Mela Ground.

Two-Wheeler Vehicle Parking

- From the Indore/Devas route at the Narsiंह Ghat parking area.
- From the Barnagar/Agar/Nagda route at the Har Siddhi Pal parking area.

Heavy Vehicle Diversions

- From Indore to Nagda/Agar route, via the Tapobhumi-Devas Bypass.
- From Maksi to Indore route, via the Narwar Bypass.

Restricted Vehicle Routes

Vehicle movement will be restricted from Hariphalak Tee to the Mahakal Valley Chowk and from Jantar Mantar to the Char Dham parking area from 4 PM on December 31st. Reserve parking is available near the Engineering College and at the Shanti Chowk.
