205 Indian Nationals Deported from the U.S. to Arrive at Amritsar Airport at 1 PM Today. Security agencies will conduct thorough checks on the passengers arriving on a C-17 military aircraft. Individuals from various states are included.

Indian Immigrants: A U.S. C-17 military aircraft carrying 205 Indian nationals will arrive at Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport, Amritsar, at 1 PM. While initially scheduled for 8 AM, the aircraft will depart at 4:30 PM. The flight, numbered RCM 175, is originating from San Antonio, USA.

Security Agencies on High Alert

Security agencies at the airport are on high alert. Passengers will undergo thorough background checks. Individuals with criminal records will be immediately sent to jail.

Individuals from Six States Involved

The aircraft carries 205 Indian citizens, including 33 from Gujarat, 30 from Punjab, 33 from Haryana, 2 from Uttar Pradesh, 2 from Chandigarh, and 3 from Maharashtra.

Impact of Trump Administration's Deportation Policy

Following Donald Trump's presidency, the repatriation of undocumented immigrants from the U.S. intensified. These 205 passengers are returning to India as a result of this policy. A first list of 104 Indian nationals has already been received. The aircraft also includes 11 crew members and 45 U.S. officials who will depart after disembarking the deported passengers.

Special Arrangements for Passengers

Passengers from other states will be transported to their respective states via air travel from within the airport, while those from Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh will be transported to their destinations by road.

Establishment of Special Help Desks

To expedite the process, help desks have been set up at the airport by customs, immigration, and police officials. However, no orders have been issued to detain the deported passengers, nor has the district administration established any detention centers.
