Many parts of North India will experience scorching heat in the coming days, while South and East India are likely to see rainfall. The IMD has issued warnings for some states, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, and hail. While no heatwave alert has been issued for Delhi-NCR yet, the weather may change in the coming days.

Heatwave Alert for Rajasthan, UP, Haryana

States like Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh are expected to see a sharp increase in temperature within the next week. A heatwave alert has been issued for Saurashtra and Kutch until April 8th. The heatwave will affect Rajasthan from April 6th to 9th and Punjab-Haryana from April 7th to 9th. The temperature in Barmer, Rajasthan, has crossed 40 degrees Celsius and is expected to rise further in the coming days.

IMD Prediction: Severe Heatwave from April to June

IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra has stated that temperatures will remain above normal from April to June this year, with frequent heatwave occurrences. Delhi recently recorded its hottest day of the season, with the temperature reaching 39 degrees Celsius, while it exceeded 40 degrees in the Ridge area.

Delhi-NCR Shows Signs of Scorching Heat

According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi-NCR will experience the effects of intense heat next week. On Friday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 18.8 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to be around 39 degrees. Strong winds are expected during the day, while the Air Quality Index (AQI) remains in the poor category.

Mercury Soars Above 42 in Rajasthan, Heatwave Continues

Temperatures are rapidly rising in Rajasthan, and the Meteorological Department has warned of hot winds in many parts of the state in the coming days. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, the maximum temperature in most parts of the state is currently between 38 and 42 degrees Celsius, which is 2-4 degrees above normal. Barmer recorded the highest temperature of 42.4 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. The weather will remain mainly dry in the coming days.

Possibility of Rainfall in South India

The Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall in parts of South India. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Puducherry. The impact of cyclonic winds continues in Kerala, which may cause rainfall for the next few days. Due to the formation of cyclonic effects in West Bengal and Bangladesh, there is a possibility of rain with b winds. Winds of 30-40 km/h may occur in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana until April 6th.

Changing Weather in MP, Jharkhand

Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Jharkhand are also showing signs of changing weather. Upper air cyclonic circulation persists over West Bengal and Southwest Madhya Pradesh, leading to a possibility of rain and showers with thunderstorms. Hail is possible in parts of Karnataka, West Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana. Strong winds of 40-50 km/h are possible in Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.
