After some time, they unanimously decided that exactly fifty years later, on April 1st, they would meet again at the same hotel. Until then, they would all work hard and see whose life progressed the most. The friend who arrived at the hotel last that day would pay the bill.
Kallu, the waiter serving them, overheard their conversation and vowed that if he remained in the city, he would wait for their return.
As time went by, circumstances led the four friends in different directions. Dinesh moved away due to his father's transfer, Santosh went to live with his uncle for further studies, while Manish and Praveen gained admission to different colleges in the city.

He explained that his father, Praveen, had passed away last month due to a serious illness. He had instructed Ravi to arrive late so that the news of his passing wouldn't dampen their spirits. Praveen believed that knowing this would sadden them and they wouldn't enjoy their reunion after so many years.
He had instructed Ravi to hug each of them on his behalf. Overcome with emotion, they all embraced Ravi.
Kallu Seth announced that they would now meet not after fifty years, but every fifty days, and each time he would host a grand party.
They embraced each other joyfully.
