Puri: A 15-year-old boy, Biswajit Sahu, from Puri district, Odisha, met a tragic end after being hit by a train. The incident occurred near Jankadeipur railway station. According to information, Biswajit and his friend Sakhigopal were standing on the railway track to create a video reel when a speeding train struck Biswajit.
Local residents attempted to rush the boy to the hospital immediately, but doctors declared him dead. The incident has once again highlighted the dangers of creating social media content among youngsters.
Hit by Train While Making Reel
Biswajit and Sakhigopal had gone to offer prayers at the Dakshinakali Temple in their village, Biragabindapur. From there, they visited the Kamrupa Temple in Birapratapur. On their way back, they stopped at the Jankadeipur railway track to film a video reel.
The viral video shows Biswajit standing very close to the railway line, unaware of the train approaching from behind. After being hit by the train, he fell to the side of the track and could not react immediately.
Police Arrive at Scene, Begin Investigation
Upon receiving information about the incident, Puri GRP (Government Railway Police) arrived at the scene. The police took custody of the body, sent it for post-mortem, and initiated an investigation into the matter. Both the hospital and the police stated that the boy died instantly and showed no response at the hospital.
The police investigation will ascertain the circumstances under which the teenager went onto the track and whether anyone was negligent regarding his safety.
