In the interaction, Aamir Khan stated, "Many people have been asking if 'Sitaare Zameen Par' will be released on OTT. I want to clarify that this film will only be released in theaters." He further added that while the digital platforms are prevalent, he prioritizes the theatrical experience. Aamir said, "Theaters have their own unique strength, a collective experience, which cannot be replicated on OTT."
Addressing the significant challenge of piracy associated with theatrical releases, Aamir commented, "Film leaks have become commonplace these days, but it's extremely disheartening. It undermines the entire team's hard work. I want strict action taken against piracy."
A Harmonious Shoot
Aamir also shared a unique experience from the film's shoot. He said, "For the first time, there were no arguments during the shoot. Not with the director, not with the DOP, and not with the production team. Everything went very smoothly. I credit this to the ten neurodivergent adults with whom we shot the film."
Aamir explained that as soon as these special actors arrived on set, their innocent smiles and positive energy brightened the entire atmosphere. "They hugged everyone, greeted everyone warmly, and never let anyone get irritable," Aamir shared.
Public Test Screenings
Discussing the film's test screenings, Aamir mentioned his preference for prioritizing the response of the common audience. He said, "I value the reaction of a common viewer more than the opinion of the film's director or actors. We did the same for this film, and the response was truly fantastic."
Aamir shared that working with these actors was not only comfortable but their dedication and discipline inspired the entire team. "They arrived on time, rehearsed their dialogues, and gave retakes when needed. But there were never any delays on set," he said.
The Fun of Playing a Gruff Character
Aamir Khan plays a basketball coach in this film, initially appearing quite gruff and rude. Speaking about this character, Aamir said, "I'm not naturally rude in real life, but this film gave me the opportunity, and I thoroughly enjoyed it." Aamir cited examples like 'Lagaan', 'Dangal', and 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar', stating that he has always had good luck with sports-based films. He also added that even though the film 'Avvl Number' was a flop, it still has some dedicated fans, including Ranbir Kapoor.
