Arishfa Khan has been selected as the new captain of the Bigg Boss 20 house. However, before taking on the responsibility, she faced an emotional moment during the Diwali family task after Mahi Vij destroyed the cassette containing a message from her family to preserve her lifeline. Arishfa broke down after learning that she would not be able to hear her family’s message. Meanwhile, Mahi’s decision to refuse a photograph of her daughter Tara also upset Qazi Touqeer, who questioned his decision to sacrifice a lifeline for her.
Arishfa Khan’s journey on Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 20 has remained a subject of discussion. Several contestants have repeatedly referred to her as a child because of her younger age, leading to disagreements with other housemates on multiple occasions.
However, the latest development has given Arishfa an opportunity to take charge of the house. She has been selected as the new captain following a special task organised during the Diwali celebrations. The task brought emotional moments for the contestants while also creating tensions over decisions made to protect their positions in the game.
As part of the Diwali celebrations, Bigg Boss gave contestants an opportunity to receive messages and photographs sent by their family members. However, they had to make a sacrifice to obtain them. Contestants were required to choose between protecting their lifelines and allowing another housemate to receive a family message.
Mahi Vij faced this decision when she had to choose between retaining her additional lifeline and allowing Arishfa to receive a message from her family.
Mahi decided to protect her lifeline to maintain her position in the game. As a result, the cassette containing Arishfa’s family message was destroyed.
After learning that she would not be able to hear her family members’ voices, Arishfa became emotional and broke down in tears while holding the broken cassette. Uditi was seen trying to console her, while Qazi Touqeer also approached Arishfa and attempted to comfort her.
Following the family task, Bigg Boss gave Arishfa a special opportunity to become the captain of the house. Bigg Boss pointed out that the other contestants had received messages or photographs from their families, while Arishfa had been deprived of that opportunity.
The 2X Room was subsequently opened for the captaincy task. Housemates were presented with two options: the '2 Door' and the 'X Door'. Choosing the '2 Door' meant supporting Arishfa’s appointment as the next captain, while selecting the 'X Door' indicated opposition to her captaincy.
Qazi Touqeer, Young, Gullu, Amrapali Dubey, Kanika Mann, Love Gill, Mahi Vij, Uditi and Manish Goyal voted in support of Arishfa.
Notably, Mahi also supported Arishfa’s appointment as captain, despite having earlier sacrificed her family message to protect her position in the game. Following the support of the housemates, Arishfa was selected as the new captain of Bigg Boss 20.
Another decision by Mahi Vij during the family task became a point of disagreement inside the house. Mahi received a photograph of her daughter Tara but refused to keep it.
Explaining her decision, Mahi said that keeping a family photograph with her could make her emotional and affect her performance in the game. She did not want her emotions to become a weakness during the competition.
Her decision angered Qazi Touqeer. He questioned why Mahi had not made her position clear earlier if she did not intend to keep the photograph or the family message.
Qazi said that had he known about Mahi’s decision beforehand, he would not have sacrificed one of his lifelines for her.
Before the task began, both Qazi and Mahi had two lifelines each. During the family message task, Qazi sacrificed one of his lifelines for Mahi.
However, Mahi’s subsequent decision to refuse her daughter’s photograph left Qazi questioning his sacrifice. This led to visible displeasure between the two contestants.
The developments added to the tensions among the housemates, with decisions involving family messages, photographs and lifelines becoming a source of disagreement.
Arishfa has now taken charge as the new captain, with the responsibility of managing household duties and handling disagreements among the contestants. Several housemates who had previously argued with her also supported her appointment during the captaincy task.
