Punimaben Patel was traveling to London to visit her son. Little did anyone know that this would be her final journey. The plane crash was a nightmare for her family. Until the DNA test results were confirmed, the family remained uncertain. Finally, upon receiving the report and confirmation of her identity, the body was released to her relatives.
Wave of Grief Sweeps Through the Village
As soon as Punimaben's body reached her home in Dakor, a wave of grief engulfed the entire village. People were in tears, visibly distressed by her untimely death. A large number of people gathered at her home to pay their last respects. Those paying tribute included local citizens, relatives, and neighbors.
A Large Gathering at the Funeral
Punimaben Patel's funeral was conducted with full respect at the Dakor crematorium. Hundreds of people attended the last rites, bidding her farewell with tearful eyes. Not only the family, but the entire village stood by them in this moment of sorrow.
Administrative and Political Representatives Attend
Administrative and political representatives were also present at Punimaben's funeral. Kheda Collector Amit Prakash Yadav, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Gadhia, and local MLA Yogendrasingh Parmar, along with several other officials and leaders, came to express their condolences. All paid their respects and offered prayers for the departed soul.
Why was DNA Identification Necessary?
Many bodies in the Ahmedabad plane crash were severely burned, making traditional identification methods impossible. DNA testing, in such cases, is the most reliable option. Samples collected from the relatives of the deceased were compared with samples from the charred bodies to establish identification.
