Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has once again launched a sharp attack on the Modi government at the Centre and the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh. During a conversation with the media in Delhi, he reacted to the recent Operation Sindoor in Jammu and Kashmir, praising the bravery of the Indian Army, but also raising several questions regarding the government's anti-terrorism policy, foreign policy, and law and order.
Salute to the Indian Army
Akhilesh Yadav said that the bravery shown by the Indian Army in Operation Sindoor is a matter of pride, and the entire nation respects it. He stated that if our army had been given more opportunity, it might have even taken back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). However, he also added that the success of a military operation alone is not enough; the government must answer why terrorist incidents are continuously occurring.
He mentioned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, questioning why the public was not informed about the incident that occurred before it. He asked what happened to the terrorists of Pahalgam and why the government has not been able to catch them?
Targeting Foreign Policy and the UP Government
Supporting the questions raised by former Union Minister and Congress leader P. Chidambaram regarding Operation Sindoor, Akhilesh said that Congress has been in power and has facts and experience. Therefore, if they are asking questions, the government should answer. He also said that the Centre's accountability should be fixed on serious issues like terrorism.
Targeting Yogi Adityanath, he said that the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has failed to fulfill his duties. He accused the Yogi government of negligence in matters of law and order and terrorism, stating that the state's security system has been limited to slogans and posters.
Strict Stance on China
Akhilesh Yadav described the Centre's foreign policy as a complete failure and said that India's international credibility has weakened. He stated that no major country seems to stand with India today. Akhilesh described China as a greater threat than Pakistan and suggested that India should not import any goods from China for the next 10 years. He emphasized adopting indigenous products and self-reliance.
Cornering BJP on 'Namazwadi' Remark
Reacting to the BJP MP's 'Namazwadi' comment, Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP is doing politics of dividing society. He alleged that the first president of the Bharatiya Janata Party had five proposers who were themselves 'Namazwadi'. Akhilesh said that communal polarization is an old strategy of the BJP, and the public has now begun to understand these things well.
