Apple has introduced iOS 27 at its annual WWDC 2026 event. According to the company, the new software update will be available for iPhone 11 and later models. The update includes performance improvements, faster app and photo processing, enhanced Siri AI capabilities, and new Apple Intelligence features.
Apple said iOS 27 places a b focus on system optimization. According to the company, apps will open approximately 30 percent faster than before, while image processing and loading speeds in the Photos library have also been improved.
The company has also enhanced file transfers through AirDrop. Switching between Wi-Fi and cellular networks has been designed to be smoother and more reliable.
The update introduces expanded capabilities for Siri. Apple said it has integrated advanced technology with its AI models to improve the Siri experience. Users will be able to review previous conversations with Siri and access several new AI-based features.
Support for Apple Intelligence is being extended to Safari, Wallet, Photos, and other system applications. AI-powered photo editing tools will allow users to edit and reframe images more effectively.
iOS 27 also adds a visual search feature through the camera. On supported devices, users will be able to identify nearby objects and information using the camera. Some advanced AI features will be limited to iPhone 15 Pro and later models.
Apple has also strengthened parental controls. New tools will enable parents to better manage screen time, usage limits, and device activity. These features will also be available on iPadOS 27 and macOS 27.
The developer version of iOS 27 has already been released. The stable version for general users is expected to become available in September 2026 alongside the launch of new iPhone models.
