Gujarat: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is on a two-day visit to Gujarat from Saturday. The visit will commence in Rajkot on Saturday, while on Sunday, Kejriwal will address a large rally of cotton farmers in Chotila. It would be incorrect to consider this visit merely a political event, as Kejriwal has entered the field to directly raise the voice for farmers' issues.

Recently, the central government removed the import duty on cotton, causing foreign cotton to reach the Indian market at a cheaper price. This directly impacts farmers in cotton-producing states like Gujarat. Farmers may face losses in the domestic market due to this decision. In this context, Kejriwal raised this issue in a press conference in Delhi and will now come to Gujarat to stand among the farmers and openly discuss their problems.

Fight for Farmers' Rights

Arvind Kejriwal's move is being seen as a fight for the rights of farmers. He has clarified that he has not come merely for political opposition or protests, but to raise his voice for the genuine economic and social interests of farmers. This is the same style that the Aam Aadmi Party has consistently adopted – direct solutions to ground-level issues and understanding the pain of farmers.

The message conveyed through Kejriwal's visit is that the voices of Gujarat's farmers are reaching Delhi. When a national leader personally comes to listen to the problems of farmers, it instills confidence in them that their concerns will not go unheard. This is the same sentiment that differentiates the Aam Aadmi Party from other parties.

The rally in Chotila will not be limited only to farmers. Through this rally, Kejriwal will also attempt to shape the state's political direction. The Aam Aadmi Party is preparing to become a b political alternative in Gujarat by connecting with farmers, traders, and the youth. This visit signals that the party is actively working not just for electoral politics, but also towards bringing about change at the grassroots level.
