Ashok Gehlot Slams PM Modi's Silence on Kanhaiya Lal Murder, Labels BJP Government as Insensitive

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticized PM Modi's silence on the 2022 Kanhaiya Lal murder case during his Banswara visit. He labeled the BJP-led central government as insensitive and confined only to electoral politics.

Jaipur: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has attacked the BJP-led central government for its silence on the 2022 murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Banswara. Gehlot alleged that this government is insensitive and restricted solely to electoral politics. He stated that the NIA has failed to bring the culprits to justice even after three years, and the Prime Minister's speech during his visit remained confined to political arguments.

Central Government's Silence on Kanhaiya Lal Murder Case

Ashok Gehlot said that after the murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur in 2022, neither the Prime Minister nor the Home Minister gave a sensitive response in the matter. He stated that this silence is distressing the people of Rajasthan and is being maintained solely with political gains in mind.

Gehlot also alleged that the central government's action in this case has been extremely slow and unresponsive. He added that the delay in bringing the culprits to justice has also affected the credibility of the justice system.

Allegations of Electoral Politics Against BJP Government

The former Chief Minister stated that the BJP government is not serious about its promises. He alleged that several schemes of the Congress government in Rajasthan have been weakened or discontinued. Gehlot said that if the Prime Minister had informed the public about the status and implementation of promises during his visit, it would have demonstrated the government's transparency.

Gehlot also remarked that earlier, Prime Ministers used to share their vision and details of schemes in government programs, but this tradition has now ended. He termed this dangerous for democracy.

 PM Modi's Banswara Visit

Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several development projects costing over Rs 1,22,100 crore in Banswara on September 25. However, Gehlot stated that the Prime Minister's speech was merely a political maneuver and did not include any discussion on sensitive issues.

Gehlot reminded that the central government's silence regarding the Kanhaiya Lal murder case in June 2022 raises questions about the country's democratic spirit. He stated that inaction on sensitive issues weakens the fundamental foundations of democracy.

Gehlot Issues Stern Warning to Central Government

Ashok Gehlot said that the central government should not remain silent on sensitive issues for electoral gains. He appealed to the public to be vigilant against such policies and to raise their voices for their rights.

Gehlot also stated that democracy will only remain b when transparency and justice are ensured on all sensitive issues. He told the Centre that it should focus on justice and security rather than merely inaugurating development projects.
