Australia Dominates West Indies in Second Test, Clinches Frank Worrell Trophy

Australia delivered a dominant performance against the West Indies in the second Test, securing a 133-run victory on the fourth day and retaining the Frank Worrell Trophy.

The second Test concluded on the fourth day itself when the Australian bowlers dismissed the West Indies' second innings for 143 runs. The West Indies had been set a target of 277 runs, but their start was very poor, and at one point the score was 33 for four wickets, from which the team could not recover.

Smith-Green Stabilize the Innings

In this Test, Steve Smith scored a crucial 71 runs and Cameron Green scored 52 runs in Australia's second innings, taking the team's score to 243 and setting the West Indies a challenging target of 277 runs. For the West Indies, Shamar Joseph bowled brilliantly, taking four wickets for 66 runs, but the team could not benefit from it.

Australian Bowlers' Brilliance

In bowling, Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc wreaked havoc, taking three wickets for 24 runs. Veteran off-spinner Nathan Lyon also took three wickets for 42 runs, taking his wicket count to 562. Lyon is now just one wicket away from the record of 563 wickets held by legendary fast bowler Glenn McGrath.

In the list of highest wicket-takers for Australia in Test cricket, Shane Warne (708 wickets) is at the top, followed by Lyon and McGrath.
