Under the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme, women from Madhubani will receive the first installment of Rs 10,000 directly into their bank accounts. The scheme will also provide financial assistance and loan facilities to women for self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Patna: The Bihar government has launched the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme with the aim of encouraging women towards self-employment. Under this scheme, women from Madhubani district will receive financial assistance directly into their bank accounts. As the first installment of the scheme, Rs 10,000 will be directly transferred to the account of every beneficiary woman. The objective of this scheme is to make women self-reliant and provide them with financial support to start their own businesses.

Initiated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, this scheme is being implemented through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). Women benefiting from the scheme must be associated with the Jeevika Self-Help Group (SHG). If a woman is not associated with this group, she must first join the Jeevika group.

First Installment Transfer

On September 26, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will transfer Rs 10,000 as the first installment of the scheme directly into bank accounts. On this occasion, programs will be organized at the district, block, ward, and village level Jeevika groups. The Chief Minister's program will also be telecast live so that all beneficiary women can watch it.

In this regard, BDO (Block Development Officer) Manoj Kumar Rai held a meeting with all block-level officials in his office chamber. Zonal Officer Purushottam Kumar, CDPO Rakhi Kumari, In-charge Block Education Officer cum BPRO Kailash Kumar, and Jeevika's BTM Vikas Kumar, along with other officials, were present at the meeting.

The BDO stated that in the first phase of the scheme, each woman will be provided with financial assistance of Rs 10,000. This amount will help women start their self-employment ventures. Based on the business's condition and potential, women will also be provided with loans of Rs 15,000, Rs 75,000, or a maximum of up to Rs 2 lakh.

The interest rate on the loan has been set at 12 percent per annum, and the repayment period has been fixed between 1 to 3 years, ensuring that women do not face financial pressure.

Role of Women in Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship

The objective of this scheme is not just to provide financial assistance. The government aims to make women completely self-reliant through entrepreneurship and technical training. Empowering women for self-employment, strengthening their position in their families and society, and increasing their contribution to job creation are the main goals of this scheme.

In Madhubani district, this scheme will particularly benefit women associated with the Jeevika Self-Help Group. Women involved in this group collaborate and participate in social and economic activities. Under the scheme, women can prepare their business plans and obtain financial assistance from banks.

Importance and Benefits of the Scheme

This scheme provides an opportunity for economic empowerment for women. Through this, women can not only start their own businesses but also become financially independent in their families and society.

The government's scheme focuses on making women self-reliant through self-employment and financial security. This will strengthen the economic status of women in rural and urban areas and increase their contribution to job creation.

Under the scheme, loan facilities are also being provided to women, enabling them to expand their businesses. Considering the interest rate and repayment period, it has been ensured that women do not feel financially burdened.
