Bihar Elections 2025: Nityanand Rai Slams Tejashwi Yadav, Predicts Raghopur Defeat

The first phase of polling for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is scheduled for November 6, and ahead of this, election fervor in the state has reached its peak. The political atmosphere has completely heated up with rallies, public meetings, and sharp statements from leaders.

Patna: Ahead of the first phase of polling for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the war of words in the state's politics has intensified. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and senior BJP leader Nityanand Rai has made a significant statement, targeting Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav. He claimed that Tejashwi Yadav is set to lose from his traditional seat, Raghopur, this time.

Nityanand Rai stated that Tejashwi has now become a villain, not a hero, because he has lost the public's trust. He added that this time, the people of Raghopur want “development and dignity,” not dynastic rule and anarchy.

'Tejashwi Yadav is losing from Raghopur' — Nityanand Rai

The first phase of polling in Bihar is scheduled for November 6, 2025, and amidst this, Nityanand Rai's statement has further heated up the election atmosphere. He said,

'This time, Tejashwi Yadav is losing from Raghopur. After the polling on November 6 and November 11, he will be completely wiped out. In 2020, he also dreamt of becoming Chief Minister, but that dream remained unfulfilled then, and it will remain unfulfilled this time too.'

Rai accused Tejashwi Yadav of only offering Bihar a politics of violence, fear, and corruption throughout his political career.

‘Tejashwi is not a hero, but a villain’

Launching a sharp attack, the BJP leader said, "Tejashwi Yadav is not a hero of Bihar, but a villain. Like his father Lalu Yadav, he has carried forward a legacy of scams and corruption. If such people call themselves heroes, the people of Bihar simply laugh." He further added that under Tejashwi's leadership, Bihar's politics would lag behind, whereas the public now desires change and development.

Nityanand Rai stated that the people of Raghopur would vote on the politics of development this time. According to him, in recent years, Tejashwi Yadav has disappointed the people of his constituency and failed to undertake any significant development work there. He alleged, "When the people of Raghopur went to meet Tejashwi Yadav, his goons and supporters would beat people with sticks. Elders were insulted, and youth were oppressed. Now, the public wants development, dignity, and service this time, not fear and humiliation."

Rai claimed that the BJP and NDA government has prioritized roads, electricity, education, and healthcare services in villages, while under RJD rule, only casteism and corruption flourished.

Recalling 2020 — ‘Two days of havoc will prove costly’

Referring to the 2020 Assembly elections, Nityanand Rai said that Tejashwi Yadav had dreamt of becoming Chief Minister even then, but the public rejected his arrogance. He stated, "Bihar still remembers the havoc unleashed by Tejashwi Yadav and his goons in 2020. The fear and violence spread between November 7 and November 10 will now be answered by the public in the 2025 elections."

This time in Bihar, it's a direct contest between the BJP, Janata Dal (U), HAM (Hindustani Awam Morcha), and LJP (Ram Vilas) alliance versus the RJD-Congress-Left alliance. The Raghopur seat, traditionally considered a bhold of the Yadav family, has once again become the center of political discussion. Tejashwi Yadav was victorious from Raghopur in the 2020 elections, but this time, the BJP and JD(U) alliance has formulated a strategy focusing on local issues and development works against him.
