Major Setback for RJD and BJP Before Bihar Elections: Devendra Kushwaha and Janardan Yadav Resign from Their Parties. Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, RJD's Devendra Kushwaha and BJP's Janardan Yadav have resigned from their respective positions. The resignations of both leaders will impact the state's politics and the upcoming electoral strategy.

Bihar Election 2025: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, political activity in the state is intensifying. In this vein, both major parties, Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and BJP, have suffered significant setbacks. Devendra Kushwaha, an important leader of the RLM, has resigned from the party, while former BJP MLA Janardan Yadav has also stepped down from his post. These developments could alter political equations for the upcoming elections and become a cause for concern for both parties.

Devendra Kushwaha Resigns from RLM

Devendra Kushwaha, considered a close leader of RLM from Sheikhpura, has resigned from the party's primary membership and all his posts. He announced this at an event held in Sheikhpura on Friday. Devendra clarified that he will not join any other party for now. He stated that his main focus would be on addressing the local problems and public issues of Sheikhpura.

Political analysts are linking this move to the Assembly elections. It is believed that Devendra Kushwaha might contest as an independent candidate in the future. His wife currently serves as the Mukhiya (head) of Kasar Panchayat in the district. Furthermore, Devendra was considered among Upendra Kushwaha's closest aides in RLM and was a prominent leader of the party's second axis. His resignation could increase challenges for RLM's electoral strategy.

Possibility of Contesting as an Independent

According to information, Devendra Kushwaha contesting as an independent could significantly impact Sheikhpura's politics. His popularity and b local base could make him a crucial player in the elections. He states that he will fight for local issues, directly benefiting the public. This step is also considered politically significant as it could weaken RLM's hold and alter the electoral equations.

BJP Also Faces a Setback

Concurrently, the BJP has also suffered a major setback in Bihar politics. Janardan Yadav, a four-time MLA from Narpatganj Assembly constituency, has resigned from the BJP. His resignation has caused a stir within the party. Janardan Yadav clarified the reason for his resignation, stating that corruption in Bihar is at its peak. He mentioned that no work is done without a bribe in police stations, block offices, and other government departments.

Janardan Yadav also stated that the current BJP MLAs are not capable of serving the public, and operations in offices are not running smoothly. Furthermore, he expressed resentment over the party's neglect of him and other veteran leaders. According to him, old BJP workers and leaders in the district are not given any importance. As a former MLA, people still approach him for solutions to many problems, but no work gets done in government offices without offerings (bribes).
