Bihar Government Offers Free Education to Daughters of Teachers in OBC Girls Schools

The Bihar Government Has Decided to Provide Free Education to the Daughters of Teachers and Employees Working in OBC Girls Residential Plus-Two Schools. They will be able to study in the same school where their parents are stationed.

Bihar: The Bihar Government has taken a significant decision that will now provide free education to the daughters of teachers and employees working in other पिछड़ा class girls residential plus-two schools in the state. This decision has been implemented by amending the rules of operation of the Backward Class and Backward Class Improvement Department.

Family Benefit Now Available in Girls Residential Schools

Under this policy change, daughters of teachers and employees deployed in these residential schools can now study in the same school where their parents are posted. Previously, there was no such facility, which caused many teachers to live away from their daughters and worry about their education.

New Provision Made for Residential Education

Teachers and employees in these schools reside within the campus to participate in the holistic development of the students. However, now their children will also have the opportunity to study in the same campus. This education will be completely free of charge, and there will be no requirement for BC-I or BC-II caste certificates.

Significant Amendments Made to the Rules

The department has clarified that there was no clear provision for school enrollment for teachers’ daughters previously. Now, this provision has been added that a teacher or employee’s daughter can study in the same school where her parents are working. However, this is not mandatory and will be at the discretion of the parents.

Parents Will Be Responsible for Food and Clothing

The daughters studying in the school will have to reside in the government quarters located within the school campus with their parents. However, the responsibility for food, clothing, and other personal needs will lie with the parents. Essentially, the school administration will only provide education and basic facilities, while the rest of the responsibility will be borne by the family.

A Step Towards Equal Opportunities in Education

The state government’s decision is a significant step towards providing equal opportunities in education. This will allow working teachers and employees to live with their families, while also ensuring that their daughters receive safe and quality education. This will also promote girls’ education, especially among backward classes.
