Patna: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is organizing a dialogue program with the minority community. During this, Madrasa teachers created a ruckus regarding their pending salaries and questioned when they would receive their salaries.
On Thursday, at the 'Minority Dialogue' program held at Bapu Auditorium in Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was directly interacting with representatives of the Muslim community. A large number of people from the Muslim community attended the program.
Opportunity of Madrasa Board's Centenary Celebration
This dialogue program was organized on the occasion of the Madrasa Board's centenary celebrations. In his speech, the CM compared the rule of the Lalu-Rabri government, saying that the previous governments did not do any work for the Muslim community. He claimed that his government has done many works in the interest of Muslims and he appealed to the community to maintain trust.
Ruckus over pending salaries of Madrasa teachers
As Nitish Kumar was enumerating the achievements of his government, many teachers of the Madrasa Board started questioning about their pending salaries. They said that they have not received salaries for months and the condition of the Madrasa Board is also serious. The teachers allege that due to non-payment of salaries for years, they are facing difficulties in meeting their daily needs.
Madrasa teachers have protested many times before. This time too, they expressed their displeasure at the 'Minority Dialogue' program. They directly asked the CM when they would receive their salaries and whether the condition of the Madrasa Board would be improved or not.
Nitish's strategy for the minority community
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is working on a strategy to strengthen the Muslim vote bank before the Assembly elections. After women and youth, he has now started trying to keep the Muslim community voter in his camp. The 'Minority Dialogue' program is a part of this strategy.
During this, the CM also said that his government is taking many steps for the development and education of the Muslim community. He interacted with Madrasa teachers and other representatives, but the teachers' ruckus during the program indicates that many problems still persist within the community.
Teachers' demands and government's response
The teachers of the Madrasa Board are constantly demanding answers from the government regarding their pending salaries. They said that adequate financial assistance is not being given to the Madrasas by the state government. Due to this, their salaries are not reaching them on time. Nitish Kumar claimed in his speech that his government has launched many schemes in the interest of the Muslim community, but the teachers' ruckus shows that the situation on the ground is not completely satisfactory yet.
The atmosphere is heated regarding the elections
The political heat of the Assembly elections in Bihar is intensifying. The Muslim vote bank is considered important for JDU. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is trying to ensure that the message of his government's achievements reaches the Muslim community before the elections.
Many of the people who participated in the 'Minority Dialogue' program raised their grievances before the CM. In particular, the demonstration by Madrasa teachers shows that many local issues within the Muslim community are also at the center of the election discussion.
