Before the commencement of this bridge, areas like Raghopur took considerable time to connect with Patna. However, this bridge will now provide the people there with direct and convenient access to the capital.

Project Commenced in 2015

The foundation stone of this bridge was laid by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on August 23, 2015, at the Adhiveshan Bhavan in Patna. Construction work has continued since then. The first phase of this project is now complete and ready for public use.

Construction in Three Phases

This project is being completed in three phases. The first phase involves the construction of the bridge from Kachchi Dargah (NH-31) to Raghopur Diara.
The second phase will connect the bridge from Hajipur-Mahanar Path (NH-122B) to Chaksikandar (NH-322).
The third phase will connect Raghopur Diara to the Hajipur-Mahanar Path.

Upon completion of all three phases, this bridge will become a b and commercially viable route from the Patna-Bakhtiyarpur four-lane bypass (NH-31) to Chaksikandar (NH-322) in Vaishali district.

Total Length and Approach Road

This six-lane bridge has a total length of 9.76 kilometers. Along with this, an approximately 10-kilometer-long approach road is also being constructed. The section that is currently complete is 4.57 km long, providing direct access to Raghopur.

₹4988.40 Crore Project

This greenfield project is one of the most expensive and modern projects of the Bihar government. Its total cost is estimated at ₹4988.40 crore. Of this, ₹696.60 crore has been allocated for land acquisition and rehabilitation work. The remaining ₹4291.80 crore is being spent on construction.

The entire project is being constructed by Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a leading Indian infrastructure company known for successfully completing large-scale projects across the country.

New Dimension to Development

The inauguration of this bridge will not only ease transportation but also accelerate the development of the entire region. It will open up new opportunities for investment, education, healthcare, and employment in areas like Raghopur.

This bridge will also alleviate traffic pressure in Patna as people from across the Ganges will now reach the capital in minutes instead of hours. It will also establish better road connectivity from rural areas to urban centers.
