Bihar STET 2025: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has commenced the application process for the Bihar Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Bihar STET) 2025 from today, September 11, 2025. Interested candidates can fill out the form online by the stipulated last date of September 19, 2025. Applications will only be accepted through the online mode, and forms submitted through any other means will not be considered valid. The examination will be conducted from October 4 to October 25, 2025, at various examination centers.
Who Can Apply
To participate in Bihar STET 2025, candidates must possess a Graduate or Post Graduate degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 50 percent marks. Additionally, a B.Ed/M.Ed/B.A. B.Ed/B.Sc. B.Ed degree from an institution recognized by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) is mandatory. The maximum age limit for General category candidates has been set at 37 years. Candidates from reserved categories will be given age relaxation as per rules.

Application Process Step by Step
To fill out the Bihar STET 2025 application form, first visit the official website secondary.biharboardonline.com. On the home page, click on the New Registration link and fill in the required information accurately. After completing the registration, log in with your credentials and upload other necessary details such as your photograph, signature, and educational certificates. After filling in all the details, pay the prescribed fee and submit the form. It is essential to take a printout of the form and keep it safe.
Application Fee
The application fee has been determined category-wise. For General, BC, and EWS category candidates, the fee will be Rs. 960 for a single paper and Rs. 1440 for both papers. For SC, ST, and PH category candidates, it is mandatory to pay Rs. 760 for a single paper and Rs. 1140 for both papers. The application fee can only be paid online. Applications will not be accepted without the fee.
Exam Pattern
In the Bihar STET examination, candidates will be asked questions in two papers.
Paper 1:
- Will be for primary level teachers
- Questions will be of multiple-choice type
- Questions will include language, mathematics, and general studies
Paper 2:
- Will be for secondary level teachers
- Questions will be based on the relevant subject, pedagogy, and general knowledge
- There will be a provision for negative marking for each incorrect answer
Candidates are advised to attempt only those questions for which they are absolutely certain of the answers.
Selection Process
Candidates who achieve the minimum qualifying marks will have to appear for the main examination. After the main examination, selected candidates will have to participate in the Local Language Test. Candidates successful in all stages will be appointed to teaching positions in Bihar government schools. Through this recruitment, a total of 5180 regular posts and 810 backlog posts will be filled.
