Bogo Singh, Former JDU MLA, Joins RJD Ahead of 2025 Bihar Elections

The JDU has suffered a major setback ahead of the Bihar elections in 2025. Former Begusarai MLA and bman leader Bogo Singh has joined the RJD. He stated that his goal now is to make Tejashwi Yadav the Chief Minister.

Bihar Election: A major political upheaval has occurred in the Begusarai district ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Nitish Kumar's party, Janata Dal United, has suffered a major blow. Narendra Kumar Singh alias Bogo Singh, a four-time MLA from Matihani assembly constituency and once known for his bman image, has left the JDU and joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal. He announced this decision at a press conference at his residence.

Announcement of Joining RJD

Bogo Singh said in the press conference that his heart has always been with the RJD and now he is openly joining the RJD. He said that the RJD is now his family and he will work with full dedication to strengthen the party. His first goal is to ensure the victory of the Grand Alliance in all seven seats of Begusarai.

Goal to Make Tejashwi Yadav the CM

Bogo Singh clearly stated that his priority is to make Tejashwi Yadav the Chief Minister. He said that as an RJD worker, he will work with full strength and further strengthen the wave of change in Bihar. He said that as an RJD soldier, he will try to ensure the party's victory in every seat.

In the 2020 assembly elections, Bogo Singh faced defeat by a very narrow margin. LJP candidate Rajkumar Singh defeated him by just 333 votes from the Matihani seat. Bogo Singh said that despite the defeat, Nitish Kumar and the NDA did not bother to check on him even once in five years. It was this neglect that made him start to distance himself from the party.

Political Equations on Matihani Seat

Politics has always been interesting on the Matihani assembly seat. Strongman leaders have dominated here. Bogo Singh first won the election as an independent candidate in 2005. He achieved success in both the February 2005 and November 2005 elections. After this, he won on a JDU ticket in 2010 and 2015. But he lost by a narrow margin in 2020.

Neglect and Discontent in JDU

After losing the election, the JDU sidelined Bogo Singh. More importance was given in the party to Rajkumar Singh, who was previously in the LJP and later joined the JDU. Rajkumar Singh is also being considered the claimant from JDU in the 2025 elections. This further increased Bogo Singh's displeasure.

Closeness to the Grand Alliance

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Bogo Singh openly campaigned for the Grand Alliance candidate. Because of this, speculations started that he would soon join the RJD or any party of the Grand Alliance. Now, with his joining the RJD, it is clear that he will be active on behalf of the Grand Alliance in the 2025 assembly elections.

Welcome and Expectations in RJD

After joining the RJD, Bogo Singh said that now he is completely dedicated to the party. He said that he will take every worker along and ensure the victory of the Grand Alliance on all seats in Begusarai. He also said that if the party makes him a candidate, he will contest from the Matihani seat, but the final decision will be of the high command.

Major Support for Tejashwi Yadav

Bogo Singh's name is known as an influential face in the politics of Bihar. His identity is b not only in Begusarai but also in the surrounding areas. The RJD hopes that the Grand Alliance will benefit greatly from his arrival. Especially in a district like Begusarai, where the BJP and NDA are considered to have a b base.

During the press conference, Bogo Singh also took a dig at Union Minister Giriraj Singh. He said that it does not take long for the situation to change in politics. His اشاره was to the fact that even leaders who once won with a big lead are now facing challenges.

New Equation on Matihani Seat

In the 2020 elections, the Matihani seat went to the CPM under the Grand Alliance. In that election, CPM candidate Rajendra Singh was in third place and Bogo Singh lost by a narrow margin of votes. Now, in the 2025 elections, it will be an important question as to which party in the Grand Alliance will get this seat. If the RJD keeps the seat this time, the chances of Bogo Singh being made the candidate will increase significantly.
