A businessman, Anil Agarwal, was attacked and robbed of a bag containing 20 lakh rupees in Ambikapur. The injured businessman has been admitted to a private hospital. Police have detained one suspect and initiated an investigation into the entire matter.
Chhattisgarh: On Sunday night around 9:30 PM, Anil Agarwal, a mobile dealer and franchise operator for Hindustan Unilever, was attacked in the Sattipara area of Ambikapur. Anil was returning home after closing his shop. As he turned towards Rani Sati Temple Colony, unidentified assailants appeared and attacked him on the head with a thick bamboo stick. Anil fell from his scooter and lost consciousness due to the sudden attack.
Meanwhile, the assailants fled with a bag containing cash. Locals spotted the injured Anil and informed his family. He was admitted to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Anil has sustained serious head injuries.
Amount Looted
Anil Agarwal stated that the bag contained the day's collection, totaling approximately 20 lakh rupees. This included funds deposited by mobile sub-dealers and Hindustan Unilever sub-dealers.
Anil explained that the criminals had been observing his daily routine. He routinely closed his shop and returned home between 9:30 and 10:00 PM. The criminals exploited this knowledge of his route and timing to commit the crime.
Police Action
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Kotwali police arrived at the scene. Footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being examined. The incident occurred just 300 meters from the businessman's residence.
Police have detained one suspect. Initial questioning of the suspect has yielded important information. Officials are confident that the entire matter will be resolved soon.
Anil Agarwal owns a wholesale shop named "Agarwal Enterprises Indraprasth" near Ram Temple. Police are investigating all aspects of the case and are conducting a campaign to apprehend the other criminals involved in the incident.
