Canva has launched a Deep Research Connector and an Open MCP Server with ChatGPT, enabling users to directly work on their designs, receive suggestions, and get feedback with the help of AI.

Canva recently launched two new AI features – the Deep Research Connector and an Open MCP Server, which will eliminate the need for users to switch between apps. Canva, through the Deep Research Connector, has allowed ChatGPT to connect with its data. This means that a user will now only ask questions in ChatGPT, and the answers will be generated based on Canva projects.
For example, if you ask ChatGPT – 'Review our Q2 social media campaign,' ChatGPT will go into your Canva account, find the correct presentation or deck, and provide a summary.
The biggest advantage of this is that users no longer have to bother uploading Canva files to ChatGPT. Nor do they need to switch between two different platforms.

This feature will only be active when ChatGPT's Deep Research Mode is turned on. And the good news is that this feature will be available to all ChatGPT users – you don't need any additional plan for it.
Under this feature, ChatGPT can not only read your Canva files, but also deeply analyze projects, presentations, design elements, etc., and provide you with suggestions.

This MCP Server is a standardized interface designed by Anthropic. With its help, any AI tool – whether it's Google Gemini, Claude, or Salesforce's AI – can integrate with Canva.
Now users will be able to create Canva designs by speaking in a single chat interface.
For example: 'Prepare an investor pitch deck based on this chat,' – and Gemini or other AI chatbots will prepare that deck in Canva.
