IIM Kozhikode has released the official notification for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025. The registration process will commence on August 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM and will continue until September 13. This examination, which facilitates admission to MBA or PG Management programs in top B-Schools across the country, will be conducted on November 30, 2025. Interested candidates are advised to keep certain essential documents ready before applying. The CAT 2025 admit card will be available for download from November 5.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of India's most prestigious MBA entrance exams. It provides access not only to IIMs but also to many other top management colleges in the country. This year, IIM Kozhikode is conducting the examination, and it is expected to have more than three lakh candidates participating.

Keep These Documents Ready Before Applying

While applying online for CAT 2025, you will need to upload certain essential documents. Scanning them beforehand will be helpful while filling out the form:

  • 10th and 12th Mark sheets
  • Graduation Degree or Mark sheets
  • Certificate from the university if you are a final year student
  • Reservation certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD), if applicable
  • Passport-size photograph (white background, less than 80 KB)
  • Scanned signature (less than 80 KB)
  • Valid photo ID proof (Aadhar, PAN, Passport, etc.)
  • Work experience certificate (if you are claiming experience)

How to Apply for CAT 2025?

The application process for CAT 2025 will be completely online. Follow the easy steps given below to apply:

  1. Visit the official website www.iimcat.ac.in
  2. Click on ‘New Candidate Registration’
  3. Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID
  4. Verify the mobile number with OTP and obtain login details
  5. Fill in personal, educational, and work experience related information in the form
  6. Select desired IIM programs and 6 test cities
  7. Upload required documents
  8. Pay the fee and submit the form
  9. Download and save the confirmation page

What Happens After Registration?

After the application process is complete, candidates will be able to download their admit cards from November 5, 2025. The examination will be conducted in three shifts at centers across the country. After the last date of application, a short correction window is likely to open, through which candidates will be able to correct some minor errors.

Who Can Appear for CAT 2025?

To appear for CAT 2025, a candidate must possess a graduation degree from a recognized institution. Students in their final year can also apply, provided they complete their degree on time. Certain relaxations in minimum marks are provided for reserved categories.

What Will Be the Exam Pattern?

CAT 2025 will be a computer-based test, which will have a total of three sections:

  1. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
  2. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
  3. Quantitative Ability (QA)

The total duration of the examination will be 120 minutes, with 40 minutes allotted for each section. The examination will be conducted at approximately 400 centers across the country.

What is the Application Fee?

The application fee for CAT 2025 has been fixed differently according to the category:

  • General Category: ₹2,400
  • SC/ST/PwD Category: ₹1,200

Payment can be made through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.

CAT is not just an exam but an opportunity — to study at the country's top management colleges and chart a better career path. The CAT score is valid not only at IIMs but also at many leading institutions such as FMS, MDI, SPJIMR, IMT. Based on the exam score, candidates are shortlisted for Group Discussion, Personal Interview, and Writing Ability Test.
