A political storm erupted before the Bihar Assembly elections when Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) National President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan received a bomb threat. The threat was delivered to him via social media. Upon learning of it, he informed senior police officials. Taking the matter seriously, Patna Police and the Cyber Cell initiated an investigation.
Rajesh Bhatt, the chief spokesperson of LJP (Ram Vilas), filed a written complaint at the Patna Cyber Police Station against the threat. He stated that it was not only a threat to the party leader's life but also a conspiracy to affect the democratic environment and the election process in the state. The party has called it a pre-planned political attack and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and strict action.
Record Victory from Hajipur
Chirag Paswan recently won a significant victory from the Hajipur seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Following this impressive performance, he was inducted into Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet. Before entering politics, Chirag acted in Bollywood, but he soon decided to leave films and take over the political legacy of his father, Ram Vilas Paswan.
Today, he is not only the top leader of LJP (Ram Vilas) but is also considered a young and influential face in Bihar's politics. Concerns and vigilance regarding his security have increased following the threat incident.
Announcement to contest elections on 243 seats
At the 'Nav Sankalp Mahasabha' held in Chhapra, Chirag Paswan made a major political announcement, stating that LJP (Ram Vilas) would contest elections on all 243 assembly seats in Bihar. He said, "When I talk about contesting elections, some people get troubled. They repeatedly ask how many seats we will contest. Today, I make it clear—I will contest every single seat."
With this statement, he signaled a new direction for the state's current politics. Chirag also clarified that his party would remain a part of the NDA but would enter the field with its own identity and strength in Bihar.
I am not one to be afraid
Chirag said in an emotional manner that attempts are being made to scare him with threats and conspiracies, but he is not afraid of anyone. He said, "I will contest elections—for the youth, brothers, mothers, and sisters of Bihar. We will build a Bihar that will be an example of development and good governance."
This statement not only reflects his political commitment but is also considered a challenge to the opposition. Given the seriousness of the threat and the election environment, this matter has now become a major issue in Bihar's politics.
