Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav honored sanitation workers at the 'Swachhta Samagra Samaroh' (Comprehensive Sanitation Ceremony) in Bhopal and presented sanitation awards to 64 cities in the state. He stated, "The world will learn cleanliness from us," and also gifted development schemes.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav presided as the chief guest at the 5th State Level Sanitation Awards and Workshop 'Swachhta Samagra Samaroh' held at Rabindra Bhawan in Bhopal on October 14. On this occasion, he gifted development projects worth a total of Rs 7,000 crore to the urban local bodies of the state and honored sanitation workers.

CM Mohan Yadav stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized cleanliness from the Red Fort after his first oath-taking ceremony. Since then, the atmosphere of cleanliness in the country has completely transformed. He also lauded the cleanliness achievements of Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, and other cities.

Awards for Sanitation Workers and Public Representatives

Public representatives and sanitation workers (Safai Mitras) from Jabalpur, Ujjain, Bhopal, Gwalior, Dewas, Indore, Shahganj, and Budni, who secured positions in Swachhta Survekshan-2024, were honored at the event. A total of 64 awards were presented on this occasion.

Minister of State Pratima Bagri said that cleanliness is not just for the beauty of the city, but also essential for mental well-being. She appealed to everyone to ensure the cleanliness of rivers, ponds, and public places.

State Receives Gifts of Schemes Worth Rs 22,500 Crore

CM Mohan Yadav informed that the state would receive gifts worth Rs 22,500 crore before Diwali. This includes the Namami Narmade scheme worth Rs 10,000 crore, Amrit-2 scheme worth Rs 7,000 crore, and the Chief Minister's Infrastructure Scheme worth Rs 5,000 crore. Projects worth approximately Rs 20,000 crore will materialize in the next three years.

He said that smaller districts like Mandla and Tikamgarh have also made their mark in cleanliness. The state government is resolved to completely eliminate legacy waste from cities.

War-Footing Efforts for Simhastha-2028 Preparations

The Chief Minister mentioned war-footing preparations for Simhastha-2028 in Ujjain. This fair will be the largest religious event not only in Ujjain but globally. CM Mohan Yadav stated that the world will learn lessons in cleanliness from us during the Kumbh.

A short film focusing on the cleanliness campaign was also screened at the event. This film highlighted the contribution of sanitation workers in cities and the importance of cleanliness.

Initiative to Remove Accumulated Waste from Years

Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Dubey stated that a resolution has been taken to remove years of accumulated waste in approximately 40 urban local bodies of the state. Door-to-door waste collection will be enhanced, and cleanliness will continue to be a priority.

CM Mohan Yadav affirmed that the established standards of cleanliness in the state would be maintained in the future, and extensive initiatives would continue to make cities beautiful, clean, and healthy.
