Immediate Changes in CM's Security After Attack

The day after the attack, on August 21, the Union Home Ministry ordered Z category security for CM Rekha Gupta. Under this, 22 commandos of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were deployed in her security. The aim of this step was to ensure the CM's safety and prevent such incidents in the future.

Change in Security Again: Responsibility from CRPF to Delhi Police

However, on August 25, the central government withdrew the CM's Z category CRPF security and handed over this responsibility back to the Delhi Police. This decision was taken keeping in mind the review of the security arrangements and the readiness of the local police.

Arrest of the Main Accused in the Attack

The main accused Rajesh's friend, Tahseen Sayyed, has been arrested from Rajkot, Gujarat. Police say that Tahseen had sent money to help the accused Rajesh and both were in constant contact. Important information can be obtained in the investigation of the case from this arrest.

Conspiracy of the Attack

During interrogation, it also came to light that the accused Rajesh had gone to the Supreme Court before reaching the Chief Minister's residence, but returned after seeing the tight security there. After this, he moved towards the Chief Minister's residence located in Shalimar Bagh. According to sources, the attacker's plan was to attack the Chief Minister with a knife, but seeing the tight security, he threw the knife in the Civil Lines area itself.
