Heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering Delhi from August 12 to 15 on the occasion of Independence Day. Rewari Police has advised using alternative routes to avoid traffic disruption.
New Delhi: Rewari Police has issued a special traffic advisory to further tighten security arrangements in Delhi on the occasion of Independence Day. Under this advisory, the entry of heavy commercial vehicles traveling from Rewari towards Delhi and Gurugram will be restricted from the evening of August 12th until August 15th. The purpose of this decision is to control traffic and ensure security in the capital.
When and how the traffic restrictions will be implemented
According to Rewari Police, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to travel towards Delhi and Gurugram from 5 pm on August 12th to 1:30 pm on August 13th. Subsequently, this restriction will also be in effect from 5 pm on August 14th to 1:30 pm on August 15th. During this period, the entry of heavy vehicles into the capital will be completely prohibited.
This restriction will primarily affect commercial vehicles and trucks that travel from Rewari to Delhi and Gurugram. Police have stated that drivers should use alternative routes during this time to avoid any inconvenience during their journey.
Alternative routes and diversion arrangements
Rewari Police has also designated alternative routes for heavy vehicles. Heavy vehicles traveling from Jaipur to Delhi and Gurugram will now pass through NH-352 instead of NH-48. This aims to reduce traffic pressure on the main roads and ensure safe movement.
Superintendent of Police Hemendra Kumar Meena has appealed to the general public and drivers to use these designated alternative routes only. He also stated that the rules should be strictly followed and that heavy vehicles should not travel to Delhi or Gurugram on the specified dates.
Security arrangements and administrative preparedness
Security is given top priority on the occasion of national festivals like Independence Day. This year too, strict security arrangements have been made in Delhi and surrounding areas. Along with the traffic advisory, the police have also deployed special personnel at various checkpoints to prevent any untoward incident.
Rewari Police stated that such traffic restrictions are necessary to strengthen security arrangements. These measures are not only aimed at reducing congestion but will also help in preventing terrorism and other security threats.
