A heatwave is returning to Delhi-NCR. According to the meteorological department, temperatures could reach 40°C in the next one or two days. Between the 8th and 12th of June, intense sunshine is expected, along with surface winds reaching speeds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour.
Weather Forecast: The heatwave across North India has intensified. Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Rajasthan are expected to experience intense heat and heatstroke in the coming days. The meteorological department's latest report predicts a significant temperature increase next week, with temperatures potentially reaching 46°C in areas like Bikaner and Ganganagar in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR and the plains of Uttar Pradesh will experience temperatures exceeding 40°C, accompanied by intense sunshine and dry winds.
Delhi-NCR to Experience Rising Temperatures Again
According to the meteorological department, temperatures in Delhi-NCR will range between 40°C and 44°C from June 8th to 12th. This period will see intense sunshine and surface winds reaching speeds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. However, no rain or monsoon activity is expected in the region for the next week.
Skymet weather experts state that there are currently no active weather systems in North India, as the western disturbances in the Himalayan region have dissipated. This will result in dry and hot weather conditions. No monsoon activity, such as thunderstorms or rain, is expected in the capital for at least the next 6 to 7 days. While temperatures were below 40°C in the early days of June, they have now begun to rise steadily.
Uttar Pradesh Faces Threat of Heatwave and Heatstroke
Temperatures are rapidly rising across various districts of Uttar Pradesh. June 7th will see clear skies and dry weather. However, temperatures will increase steadily thereafter, with a particular risk of heatstroke in the southern parts of the state. The meteorological department has issued a heatwave warning for Bundelkhand, Vindhya, and surrounding areas for June 9th and 10th.
Many districts, including Lucknow, are already experiencing high temperatures. Meteorologists have indicated that as no significant weather systems are currently active in the state, temperatures could increase by 3 to 5°C. Furthermore, the westerly hot winds will exacerbate the heatstroke conditions. Strong winds are also expected on June 7th and 8th, but there is no indication of rain.
Rajasthan Braces for Rising Temperatures and Heatstroke
Temperatures are rising rapidly in Rajasthan. With the dissipation of the western disturbances, the threat of heatstroke looms over several areas, including the Bikaner division. Heatstroke is likely in Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Churu districts between June 8th and 10th. Temperatures in Bikaner could reach 46°C. According to the meteorological department, eastern Rajasthan is expected to receive 110% more rainfall than normal, while western Rajasthan could see up to 115% more rainfall.
Despite this predicted rainfall, temperatures could still increase by 6 to 7°C. Heat is also increasing in the capital, Jaipur, where temperatures have risen by 5°C in the past 24 hours.
Madhya Pradesh Anticipates Humidity and Rainfall
Madhya Pradesh is experiencing humid weather. Pre-monsoon activity is active in several districts, including Bhopal, leading to the possibility of thunderstorms and rain. The meteorological department has indicated that b winds and lightning are possible in many districts. Areas like Gwalior, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Raisen, and Chhindwara could experience winds of up to 50 kilometers per hour. Temperatures are expected to increase by up to four degrees in the coming days, leading to increased humidity and less relief from the heat.
