Schools in the capital, Delhi, have once again received bomb threats. On Thursday morning, threatening messages were sent via suspicious emails to three different schools. The threats were first received by Abhinav Public School in Rohini Sector-3, then Richmond School in Paschim Vihar, and subsequently Sovereign School in Rohini Sector-24. Upon receiving the emails, the school administrations immediately informed the police, following which teams from the Delhi Police, the Fire Brigade, and the Bomb Disposal Squad arrived at the scene and initiated a search operation.
Although no explosive materials have been found in any of the schools so far, all schools have been evacuated as a precautionary measure. After safely evacuating students and staff, a thorough investigation of the entire campus is underway.
9 Schools Targeted So Far
Prior to this, on Wednesday, Vasant Valley School in South Delhi and St. Thomas School in Dwarka also received similar threats. In the past three days, a total of 9 schools in Delhi have received 10 threatening emails. These recurring threats have created an atmosphere of panic among school administrations, students' parents, and local residents.
It is noteworthy that on February 7th of this year, Alcon Public School located in Mayur Vihar Phase-1, East Delhi, also received a bomb threat. At that time too, chaos ensued in the school after the message was sent via email, but after a thorough search, nothing suspicious was found there either, and the matter was dismissed as a hoax.
Emails Being Sent Via Dark Web and VPN
Investigating the threatening emails, it is not easy for the Delhi Police to track down these cases. Officials say that these emails are being sent through encrypted networks, making it extremely difficult to trace their source. The Delhi Police's cyber team and bomb disposal experts are constantly engaged in the investigation.
According to a senior officer, the perpetrators are constantly using Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and the dark web. The dark web is the part of the internet that is not visible to common search engines (such as Google or Bing) and can only be accessed with the help of special software. An officer said, "Tracing the dark web is like chasing a shadow in a room full of mirrors—as soon as a clue is found, it immediately hides in another layer of anonymity."
Security Agencies on Alert Mode
The continuous bomb threats have created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety in Delhi schools. Many parents are hesitant to send their children to school. Meanwhile, the police and other security agencies are investigating from every angle. Officials say that all technical measures are being adopted to ascertain the truth of the threats and to identify the culprits.
Currently, security has been increased in all schools in the capital, and instructions have been issued to maintain vigilance until the investigation is completed. The Delhi Police appeals to people not to pay attention to rumors and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
