DTDC Express Launches 'Raftaar', Now Delivering in 4–6 Hours

India's leading logistics company DTDC Express has launched a new rapid commerce vertical called 'Raftaar' on its 35th anniversary. This service will provide fast deliveries in 4 to 6 hours through hyperlocal dark stores. The company believes that this step will take the customer experience in the e-commerce sector to new heights.

On this occasion, DTDC also released a white paper in collaboration with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). It highlighted the growing importance of speed and the changing nature of the delivery ecosystem in India's emerging e-commerce market.

Report Released with BCG Shows New Direction of E-commerce

The report released with BCG stated that Indian e-commerce is no longer limited to product and price, but delivery speed has also become equally important for customers. Rapid commerce is playing a major role in increasing consumer loyalty and improving customer conversion rates.

The company believes that the 4–6 hour delivery window falls within the "Goldilocks Zone," which is neither too long nor impossibly short. This timeframe assures customers of fast service and is also commercially sustainable.

Major Change in Customer Experience and Supply Chain Efficiency

Subhasish Chakraborty, Founder and Chairman of DTDC Express, said that the foundation laid 35 years ago is taking the company to new heights today. Through 'Raftaar', DTDC will not only improve customer experience but also give a new dimension to supply chain efficiency and market competition.

According to CEO Abhishek Chakraborty, the company is now moving from "Xpress to Xponential." He says that by using DTDC's reach and technology, 'Raftaar' will be made a standard service across India, especially in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where e-commerce is growing rapidly.

Alpesh Shah, former System Head and Consultant at BCG India, said that rapid commerce will fill a gap in India's delivery ecosystem. There is an opportunity to develop a special model for a large and diverse market like India, which can make a significant contribution to the country's Developed India campaign.
